    The Experience

Nestled in a quiet corner of the Timbavati, Simbavati Trails Camp invites you to step away from noise, Wi-Fi, and hurry. Here, life slows to a natural rhythm: early morning coffee by the fire as the sky lightens, long pauses by the swimming pool, suppers by lantern light, and the hush of the stars. With only eight guests, it feels both private and shared – a place to reconnect with yourself, with nature, and with those beside you. The walks are part of this rhythm – two each day with expert guides. They are gentle, immersive, and alive with detail. You may trace a lion’s footprint in the sand, pause at a bird’s alarm call, or notice the scent of wild sage crushed underfoot. Sometimes the bush reveals larger wildlife at a distance, often it reveals the smaller wonders most miss. Always, it shifts the way you feel Africa – not as a sight you pass, but a story you belong to. Back at camp, comfort is quietly considered: canvas tents with en-suite bathrooms, flushable toilets, and hot bucket-showers, a pool deck with umbrellas, a swimming pool, and a sunken lounge area, and meals prepared flame-to-table over the fire. There is no Wi-Fi or plugs in tents. Just firelight, conversation, and the rare luxury of switching off. And in these unhurried days, the feelings stay with you. The laughter shared around the fire. The silence held on a path at dusk. The joy of noticing details you never saw before. Time feels wider here, and presence comes naturally. This is Simbavati Trails Camp: intimacy, connection, stillness – and the kind of adventure that restores. The camp is only operational from March to November during the cooler autumn to spring days.
