This is a transitional point between East and Southern Africa’s landscapes, creating a unique diversity of both habitat and species. However, the region is most famous for its populations of lion and elephant, and the towering baobabs dotted throughout the park. The wide variety of wildlife includes leopard, cheetah, packs of wild dog, greater and lesser kudu, sable and roan antelope, giraffe, bat-eared fox, and more, as well as some 550 bird species that call this park home. Ruaha National Park boasts thriving populations of elephant, buffalo, and lion, as well as a variety of other species.
