The Experience
Olakira Migration Camp offers an unparalleled safari experience, strategically moving twice a year to ensure guests are always at the heart of the Great Wildebeest Migration. From June to October, located in the northern Serengeti, it provides a front-row seat to the dramatic Mara River crossings. From December to March, the camp relocates to the southern Serengeti, offering an intimate encounter with the wildebeest calving season and the resulting predator action. Sleep under a blanket of stars in unique mesh-enclosed tents, blending comfort with full immersion in nature.
Each spacious tent is thoughtfully designed with natural textures and cozy seating, featuring an en-suite bathroom with solar-heated hot water. Family units are available, accommodating children aged 5 and older. The camp emphasizes sustainable practices with 100% solar power. Guests can enjoy exceptional wildlife viewing, riverside dining, and fireside stories, all while being immersed in the stunning Serengeti landscape.
Beyond the migration, Olakira provides diverse activities including open-vehicle game drives, hot-air balloon safaris, and dedicated photographic safaris. Expert guides ensure an enriching experience, focusing on both iconic wildlife encounters and the intricate details of the ecosystem. Locally-sourced organic produce forms the basis of delicious meals, often enjoyed picnic-style during game drives or by the river.
