"In November we completed an amazing 22 night personalised tour for 4 people covering South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana with African Ubuntu Safaris. Cuan McLaren our principal contact was brilliant to deal with, as was there South African contact on the ground Gerald. One week before we were due to travel we had to defer our trip for two months and they handled the whole reschedule of 7 flights and 6 locations with minimal fuss. Not only that they were also in constant touch with us when South African Airlines went on strike mid holiday and organised alternative flights and transfers, plus they organised us a mid transfer stop for us to watch the Rugby World Cup Final. Our tour exceeded expectations, all the accommodation, transfers and tours were first class, we thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Africa and we be back. "To start with, by the time other travel agents had emailed me back, Cuan had already sourced and organised an ideal trip for me to Uganda, a primary objective being to see the Mountain Gorillas. Despite the immense challenges of the last two years, Cuan kept me updated regularly. The trip itself certainly exceeded my expectations - especially as a solo traveller I was a little apprehensive. From the time I landed in Uganda to the time I left I was taken care of by exceptionally friendly, professionals from Wild Frontiers. The accommodation was outstanding - stunning rooms, locations, scenery, staff and food. All such great places to relax between the utterly incredible treks / safaris to see the amazing animals Uganda has to offer. The treks (I did two) to see the mountain gorillas were just surreal - there is nothing else on earth like seeing these stunning gentle giants in their habitat. "This was our second trip arranged by African Ubuntu Safaris. The first was a dozen years ago when Cuan designed us an amazing trip through Kenya and Tanzania. Now having a sudden urge to see gorillas, Cuan was the first and only person we called. He provided some amazing advice on how to structure the trip. Advice that we happily accepted at the time, but once in Rwanda and moving around, we came to understand why it made huge sense to do things the way Cuan had proposed. This is the sort of value-add that Cuan brings to the table, and after our first experience, we had no hesitation in just putting our trust in him and his team. Our experience was seamless and flawless. There were quite a few moving parts in making everything fit together, but it all worked effortlessly from one end to the other. I think travelling in Africa could be a bit challenging without someone who knows the ropes. It was just nine weeks from when we first sat down with Cuan to discuss some ideas, until the day we departed for Africa. "Cuan was recommended by a colleague of mine. From the first point of contact, he was very responsive and attentive to our needs and budget. He absolutely nailed it by creating a purpose built itinerary for our family of 4 with 10 days in Namibia with a private guide/car and 4 days in a private game reserve in South Africa. The camps/lodges chosen by Cuan were in amazing locations with limited number of guests, meaning we avoided the crowds of tourists despite being in peak season! In Namibia, every day had so many highlights from the Namib desert to Swakopmund, Damaraland, Etosha and Okonjima. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome adventure between desert, safari and cultural experience. Way beyond our expectations. Our guide/driver Gottfried “Chicco” Ekandjo was absolutely awesome and a perfect match for our family. After spending 10 days with Chicco, it was very sad to say goodbye at the airport. We finished the trip by spending 3 nights at the Bateleur Safari Camp in the Timbivati. Again, an amazing camp. We went for 6 game drives and could not have finished the trip in a better way. So many lasting memories. Thank you Cuan for collating the perfect trip for us - it was a 10/10 from everyone and nothing to fault. We would 100% recommend Cuan/African Ubuntu Safaris to anyone wanting to travel to Africa. We will definitely reach out again when we decide on our next African adventure!"

"I cannot speak highly enough about Ubuntu! I emailed enquiries to a number of operators and Paul rang me the next day. After 45 minutes on the phone ascertaining what I roughly was looking for and sharing his extensive personal experience of Southern Africa, he had a detailed proposal to me within 48 hours that despite a couple of minor tweaks was exactly what we were hoping for. Paul designed an itinerary that was varied, individualised and thoughtful. It was the trip of a lifetime! Despite a good number of transfers, internal small flights and other arrangements it went without a hitch. All the tour operators and companies we dealt with were friendly, reliable and efficient leading to a stress free, fantastic experience. Our lodges and safari stays were all so different giving a broad range of environs, wildlife and surrounds. The standard of everything was first rate. Throughout the entire process Paul was in communication with updates, always available for even the most silly of questions and so helpful. "We experienced 12 Safari days, in 3 different locations in Zambia, visited Victoria Falls and then moved on to Cape Town. Every aspect of the total experience far exceeded expectations. All the Safari days provided unforgettable wildlife interactions. The 3 camps were great, and the scenery was spectacular. The people, accommodation and food were all 6 star. The guides were outstanding. They became our friends, on a very professional level, whilst passing on all their knowledge and experience. The included tours in Cape Town targeted the 'must see locations" and was the perfect final section. That was capped off with a short visit to the Wine country before our return home I congratulate Cuan and his whole team for providing my wife and I with the trip of a lifetime."
